Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily port operations, including vessel scheduling, cargo handling, and port maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, safety standards, and port procedures.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor vessel movements and coordinate arrivals and departures with relevant port authorities.
  • Lead and supervise port staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of port facilities and equipment and address safety or maintenance concerns.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and stakeholders to ensure efficient cargo movement and timely delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of vessel movements, cargo operations, and port activities.
  • Prepare operational reports and presentations for management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor industry developments and identify opportunities for operational improvement and innovation.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within a port or shipping environment.
  • Strong knowledge of port operations, vessel handling, and cargo handling procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and make timely decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant operational software.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
