JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for the overall safe operation of Wheel Loader / Shovel Loaders with attachments.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Operators are responsible for daily inspections and function testing of the equipment they
• When service intervals are approaching the operator must notify the maintenance
• department to program required servicing repairs.
• Operators shall be responsible for ensuring that the equipment is within inspection and testing
• intervals by examination of the specific re-certification documentation; adhere to all tags on the
• controls, drive at speeds appropriate for the existing conditions (Space, load, lighting, surface
• condition …etc.) and at or below posted limits; ensure other personnel are not in the swing radius
• prior to performing turning maneuvers.
• Operators must not knowingly operate faulty and defective equipment.
• Operators shall be responsible for ensuring that the equipment is operated with the design
• parameters in a safe manner.
• Trained in the specific Shovel / Wheel Loader model and its attachments.
• Familiar with the manufacturer’s instructions for the operation and for maintenance of the
• Able to measure Load Center and to get accurate information on the exact load weight.
• Able to estimate the load Center of Gravity and its effect on load balance.
• Able to resist pressures from other persons to carry out unsafe operations.
• Able to take action to avoid dangerous situations, including stopping operations.
  • Able to operate fire extinguishers and fire suppressant equipment (if fitted).
• Observe and note other activities within the load operating area to avoid the development of any
• unforeseen hazards.
• Warn other personnel in load movement.
• Ensure that all equipment controls function correctly.
• Ensure that the load does not block the vision of equipment operation. If unavoidable, Banksmanto be provided during period of load lifts and transfers, or reverse driving is recommended.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Minimum Qualification

• Be at least 21 years of age or above.
• Have valid UAE Driving License (Heavy Mechanical Machinery).
• Be educated to a minimum qualification of Higher secondary school certificate or equivalent

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

• Ten (10) years’ experience as Shovel / Forklift Operator and not less than five (5) years of
• experience in an oil field. The operator shall be experienced or trained on the specific type of the
• equipment he will operate. Capable of reading and understanding the English language sufficient
• for the fulfillment of their function in a safe manner.
• Be physically fit regarding eyesight, hearing, reflexes and ability to operate the equipment.
• Liable to rejection by ADNOC Offshore if Certificates of Competency issued without the
• evidence of appropriate training.
