JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for the safe operation of all Heavy Vehicles.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Ensure safe operating procedures are adhered to for all activities within our area of responsibility.
· Verify that all accidents, incidents, and near miss events on the islands are reported in accordance with company requirements.
· To ensure inspection checklists are complete and submitted regularly.
· Ensure that all safe operational practices are followed on the island, including the set 20kmp speed limit for vehicles.
· To report any damage, breakdown of the vehicle to Operations Supervisor immediately.
· Ensure all maintenance / service requirements are up to date.
· Ensure that the equipment is in good working condition in accordance with requirements and manufacturer instructions.
· Ensure the operated vehicle has valid 3rd party and zone II certification including valid registration before proceeding with Operations.
· Ensure that a banksman is in attendance for all maneuvers by these vehicles.
· Ensure to have the correct PPE prior to carrying out any operation.
· Ensure that extra due care and attention is given while carrying any loads on the flatbed trailers.
All loads large/small must be secured to the trailer bed before proceeding.
· The mentioned load capacity of the flatbed trailers must not be exceeded at any time. If any doubt refers back to the Operations Supervisor.
· Any operations regarding heavy vehicles including but not limited to vacuum trucks, diesel tanker, water tanker and sewage tanker, an additional helper may be required to assist.
· All safety procedures for heavy vehicles must always be followed while in operation, these may but they must be understood for each vehicle in operation.
· Able to understand WMS documentation and FRA and JSA related to the job.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Minimum Qualification
· Must have valid UAE driving license (Category 5/7) for driving heavy vehicles.
· Have secondary school certificate with Fair knowledge of written and spoken English
· Able to drive 40’ trailer in congested areas
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
· Not less than five (5) years of experience in driving heavy vehicles
